Dove, 2013

Expressing one’s emotion is discouraged in my culture, especially womem's. In Korean Language is a word ‘Han [한:恨]’ which means resentment without anger or big grief kept only in one’s mind and never looked out. The ‘Han’ could find in many traditional works like this situation: If your lover leaves you, do not blame him just send him with your bliss and spread flowers on his way.

When I studied about ‘Han’ from one of my undergraduate majors, I concentrated the similar attributes between ‘Han’ and others, like birds’ sounds. Some tribes of birds’ crying are sound like suppressed emotions (actually and physically these are made by their vocal organs), these facts made me feel intuitive similarity.

To visualize the feelings and emotions, I used rough materials and lines. And tried to find the exact volumes.
