Actually, I have never felt freshness or clearness like advertisements during the period. It might be same to other women. Unlikely the sanitary napkins advertisements, it feels like ‘Delivering oysters’ as I usually say.
Sometimes I have to explain to men, how does it feel like. Because of the girls’ smiling or jumping in advertisements, men are misunderstanding the feeling. It is not that romantic like in the advertisements.
I wanted to represent the feeling in different ways than the advertisements but did not want to make it stale. Embroidering on the pads is one of these studies. It is still romantic, metaphorical, but it makes people face to the real pads and leaves more imaginations about physical senses.
